Vittoriale degli Italiani

Just a 10 minute walk away from the hotel is the Vittoriale degli Italiani, residence of Gabriele D'Annunzio, who fell in love with Garda Lake and decided to spend the last years of his life here.

In 1921, Gabriele d'Annunzio engaged the architect Maroni to transform this enormous 9-hectare property into his private residence, building inside an amphitheater, a museum, a mausoleum, and naturally the Priory, the poet’s private residence.

The complex of the Vittoriale is open for visits every day; on Mondays, the Priory, the poet’s private residence, is closed to the public.

The outdoor Amphitheater, with its wonderful lake view, seats 1,500 people; in summer, it hosts concerts and theatrical performances.
